In September 2024, David Lopez and Patricia Cabrera each testified as witnesses for the plaintiff in the federal lawsuit filed against Spring Branch Independent School District, its Board of Trustees, and others. The lawsuit seeks to change SBISD to single-member district elections instead of “at-large” district elections for SBISD Trustees. The U.S. District Judge has not yet issued his decision in the case.

David Lopez’s testimony is on pages 97 – 132; Patricia Cabrera’s testimony is on pages 162 – 183
